Welcome to Golden-Fields

Golden-Fields Construction brings over thirty five years experience in both residential and commercial construction - as well as more than thirty years as a licensed general contractor, to every project we undertake. As builders and designers, we have participated in all phases of the design and construction process. Our goal is to provide the client with the highest quality work possible, at the most reasonable cost. We strive to implement land-use planning, architectural design and construction techniques that promote environmentally sound principles. We strongly believe that we must show responsibility in creating a sustainable society, and try to work with environmental sensitivity and political integrity.

Why Golden-Fields?

  • John Fields and his team have completed two commercial and one residential projects for me. There is no better!! John has an exceptional network of relationships in Ashland including the city/planning dept. I give Golden-Fields Construction my highest recommendation!!

  • I just want to mention what a pleasure it is to work with John. He really listened to us and worked to make our vision a reality - and we gave him lots of challenges. Our first building on Clear Creek Drive went so smoothly that we went straight to John for the remodel of the old Parsons Pine Building - now wonderful Yala offices, well thought out shipping room and a big clean and open warehouse for storage. Thanks John!

  • John Fields was a joy to work with. He worked with me every step of the way. Most importantly, he told me which green ideas wouldn't work and why and then came up with a better solution, often at a lower cost. He also had cultivated an excellent set of subcontractors that did great work and on time. He often knew what I wanted even though I didn't know yet.

  • The collaboration between a courageous and forward-thinking board of directors; the experience, innovation and openness of John Fields, as general contractor; resulted in a building process that moved seamlessly from vision to manifestation.  Many materials and hours of work were gifted by hundreds of donors and volunteers.  John Fields brought a graceful willingness to work with many individuals of varying skill levels, during a multi-yearbuilding process. The project, completed in the summer of 2010, was truly a community endeavor that expresses the beauty and possibility of purposeful and committed intention.

  • Over the 20+ years we have known John Fields, we have had the opportunity to work together on many occasions. As a designer and builder he has proven, time and time again, to be an outstanding person to partner with on jobs both large and small. John brings knowledge and professionalism, and balances aesthetics with practicality.

  • We had a second story addition added to our house by Golden Fields Construction and Design. John Fields and his crew are experienced, creative and organized. John has great vision and the ability to coordinate all the different aspects of a building project so it runs smoothly.  He has a mind full of creative ideas to make a beautiful design. He does it in a timely manner, and makes sure that the project is completed. You can depend on him to get things done and get back to you by phone or email. He is good at communicating and dedicated to making the end result meet your specific needs. He is great at problem solving, motivated to think about saving the customer money, and loves what he does. We feel lucky that he took on our project.

  • John has been working with Habitat for over twenty years and has been a part of the construction of the last 35 houses. Encouraging Earth Advantage Homes, using new land inventories more efficiently, developing better systems for managing production and increasing sustainability has been some of the achievements locally for this international organization. Donate and find out how you can become a partner in giving working-poor families an opportunity of a lifetime-Home ownership.

  • Among the many citizens who serve on our City Commissions John Fields is one of the stand outs. John and I spent almost four years together on the Planning Commission, where I was consistently impressed with his grasp of Ashland's complex regulations and how they relate to the details of construction and development. He also had a keen sense of the community impact of proposed development, an awareness that can be seen around town in his own projects.
